What are FairyStrands?
FairyStrands are shimmery strands - often called fairy hair, hair lights, or hair shimmers. They are thin, highly durable strands that come in all the colors of the rainbow (and rainbow!). The FairyStrands that I use are salon quality and will retain their color and shimmery sparkle for as long as they are in your hair.
How are FairyStrands applied?
Each FairyStrand is tied to one single strand of your hair with a special knot. No adhesives or chemicals of any kind are used - just a tiny knot (you can hardly feel it!).
How long will FairyStrands last?
FairyStrands can last an hour, a day, a month, or even a year, depending on how long that single strand of hair stays attached to your head.
How many FairyStrands are typically tied at one time?
Each FairyStrand is tied to a single strand of hair. The FairyStrand will then hang down from the knot at its half-way point so that each knot will result in the appearance of two FairyStrands. FairyStrands can be tied to the top layer of your hair at your part for a bold and bright sizzle or can be tied a few layers underneath your part for a more mysterious, shimmery effect. It is up to you how you choose to sparkle!
Can I wash, blow-dry, curl or straighten my hair with FairyStrands?
You can absolutely style and color your hair as you normally would, however, backcombing or teasing your hair is not recommended as this can lead to hair breakage, causing you to also lose your FairyStrands. Regular washing, drying, gentle brushing, combing (avoid a very fine-toothed comb), using a flat iron or curling iron, are all fine.
What FairyStrand colors are available?
You will have between 35 and 40 different colors from which to choose. Some sizzle with a rainbow effect and others sparkle with a more subtle shine. They are all beautiful! It is up to you whether you want to have FairyStrands that are similar to your own hair color or be adventurous with something completely different. How do I remove my FairyStrands?
It's simple! A gentle but firm tug will remove the single strand of hair with the FairyStrand attached. You can always, of course, simply snip it out with a pair of scissors.
Can children have FairyStrands?
Yes, children can have FairyStrands as long as they are old enough to sit still in a chair by themselves for about 20 minutes. Children will often lose FairyStrands at a faster rate than adults but can still enjoy them for weeks to months, depending on how fast their hair naturally sheds.
What if my hair is curly, straight, long or short?
FairyStrands look uniquely stunning according to each individual head of hair whether curly or straight. A minimum of 4 inches of hair length is recommended for fairy strands.
What if my hair is white or gray? Will FairyStrands work for me?
Of course! FairyStrands look stunning when tied to gray and/or white hair.
